We stopped to hike around Multnomah falls just outside of Portland...it is beautiful and wet.

Catching up

We had a great time visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Dickhaus and seeing all the Dickhaus family. Carter got to meet and play with all his second cousins.

King's island

We spent a fun day at King's island with Brady's high school friends and kids. Carter went on every ride he was big enough for...he had no fear, but a lot of fun. His favorite part was playing with his "new friends".

Visiting Nana

Carter got to stay with his Nana & Bill and go to the zoo with them. He had a great time and didn't want to leave.




At the zoo...riding the train, feeding the birds, up close with a polar bear, and one of Carter's favorites a zebra also known as Stripes.










We saw elephants, a white tiger, and aligators which is one of Carter's favorites, but when he saw the real thing he thought they were scary. Then we checked our wingspan against the eagles....Carter is at 3 feet and we played around on the playground.

Hanging with Dad

We took at week long trip back to Ohio/Kentucky area to visit Brady's family and friends. One of the best things for Carter was spending a whole week with Dad....they had a lot of fun.

Brady's birthday

We celebrated Brady's birthday by surprising him with a special breakfast. Carter and I went shopping together for his breakfast and I let him choose what to get...his first choice was cookies, but we settled on donuts (chocolate with sprinkles) and fruit. We then were joined by our family at the park for a great afternoon of kyaking....Brady's perfect day.

Mother's Day

Mothers Day was special this year since Shannon is pregnant and Carter is able to tell Shannon "Happy Mother's Day". After church, we spent the afternoon at Bill and Wilma's (Shannon's grandpanrents).

Spring break - Seaside, OR

For Spring break we are making a tradition of traveling to the Oregon Coast with Shannon's parents. We stay in Seaside, OR and rain, snow, sun, or shine we have a good time. When whe weather is good we run out on the beach and play in the sand, fly the kites, and look for seashells. When the weather is bad we stay in the hotel and swim in the pool, watch movies, hang out at the arcade, or go to the aquarium.

Easter

Easter was early this year and spring had not sprung yet. It was cold and the flowers were still dormant. We had a blast with Carter this Easter. He was really into coloring and hunting eggs. We had a great Sunday at church, hunting eggs, spending time with family, and eating good food.

Yakima camping

We bought a travel trailer with our friends and decided to take the maiden voyage in March. We went to Yakima Sportsmens campground and had a blast.

New baby in the oven

We found out that Shannon is pregnant with our second. She is due August 20th. August will be busy with our anniversary, Carter's birthday, and now the new baby. We are really excited and can't wait to meet the new addition to our family. Even more, we are excited for Carter to have a brother or sister.
