Night out with my little boy

Last Saturday we went to the George Strait - Reba McEntire concert with Le Ann Womack. I am a big fan of all of these artists but I really went to see George Strait, I have been wanting to see him since I was a teenager and it was worth the wait. This is definitely the best concert I have ever been too and I had great company too. Since Brady was sleeping off his jet lag from China and could not be woken for anything Carter and I headed off to the concert.

It was a great time all the performers were great and George is just so cool! Carter and I shared nachos for dinner which he thought was a great treat and he got lots of attention dressed up in his little boots and hat. He couldn't quite understand why everybody was looking at him, talking to him and touching him but he took it in stride. He liked he whole concert but he did keep asking me when George Strait was going to be on, because he is all about George Strait. When he sang "Troubadour" he played old pictures of him and him on his horse from the music video and Carter loved that. Although he has recently gotten into "McEntire" as he calls her and he loved it when she came out in a taxi for her encore to sing "Fancy".

If you are a fan I posted a few short videos even though they look blank they are there Blogger is having a problem getting the thumbnail pictures to show when you post a video and it hasn't been solved yet.

A little clip of "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls"
This was an awesome surprise - Reba started singing "Does He Love you" which is a duet she did with Linda Davis and out came Le Ann Womack to sing with her. These two have amazing voices and it was so cool to see them singing together.
We are big fans of the Reba show so it was a fun surprise when Melissa Peterman who plays Barbara Jean on the show came on stage. She had a George Strait shirt on that said "I love George Strait" on the back and she had the whole audience sing happy birthday to Reba. They did a funny dialogue similar to how their characters are on the show, it was great.
Here they are singing the theme song to the show together and she is crazy as usual.
This is what a 4 year old George Strait fan looks like at 11:30 p.m. I thought he'd fall asleep on the ride back to the motel. He perked up when he got back and Dad was finally awake and he could tell him all about the concert and show him pictures.

Bedtime story days

The week before spring break Carter had Bedtime story days at school. They got to wear pajamas and of course he chose Star Wars. They got to frost star cookies, look for nocturnal animals and have a bedtime story. He loved it! And he had the most fun running around with Cody after class.

Pacific Science Center

Why Daddy was working we explored the science center. Carter was loving it, he kept thanking me for taking him and telling me how much fun it was. Logan had a great time, he loves to explore. His favorite things were the dinosaurs, the butterflies and the water table...he was soaking when we left, but he thought it was worth it.

Carter couldn't quite take his eyes off the T-rex to get a pictures...even though he knew they weren't real I'm not sure he really trusts them. :)
One of Logan's newest words is dinosaur, he has a book of dinosaurs at home and is really into it.
Logan and Carter both fit inside a dinosaur's footprint.
Water table

At the Mars exhibit they had a mission control and space shuttle exhibit. There was a boy on the other side at "mission control" telling them what to do. They were opening and closing compartments, moving air filters around all through a microphone. They had a lot of fun.

Playing at the park in Bellevue

We traveled with Dad this week to Seattle and while he was working we got to play. We found a great park just a block away from our hotel and the kids had a great time. For dinner we went to Carter's favorite restaurant, Rainforest Cafe. Both the kids had a great time checking out all the animals and even enjoy the thunder storms.

I love spring blooms, how exciting...

Check out this yummy dessert, its chocolate pudding with oreos and gummy worms...delicious dirt :)

New tricks

The boys love to show off new tricks so I thought I would post a few. We saw some kids performing karate at the WSU basketball game halftime, it was a really cool show. The kids were breaking boards so Daddy and Carter were recreating this with the paper towel roll.

Here is Logan's version of a summersault. He is really proud of himself.
Logan loves to make his tiger noise any time you say tiger or he sees one in a book he makes his noise.

Snuggling

Our family definitely loves to snuggle. The boys favorite thing is to come snuggle in our bed first thing in the morning while they wake up. I captured a picture of Carter laying on Logan's lap that I had to share. The other morning Logan was laying on Carter's lap and Carter was petting Logan's hair, it was so cute. But I didn't get a picture because Logan never stays still for long. :)

Valentine's Tea

We had our annual Valentine's Day tea with my family and high school friends, it has become something to really look forward to. I love to catch up with everyone and I love the stories everyone shares each year, especially my Grandma telling us all her wonderful adventures from her younger years that she rarely speaks of.

It feels like we were just in high school and here we are all grown up with our little ones, who aren't looking so little anymore. (Sarah with Grace, me and Carter, Val with Serena)
While all the old people were talking the kids moved on to better things like building a fort and working out. :)

On the slopes again

Two babies and four years later I finally went snowboarding. I was hesitant after so long but it was a great time and I remembered why I missed it so much. Thanks Kristi and Ryan for getting us going again.

Kristi and Ryan hanging on...
We checked and Carter's snowman was still there a week later.

A Sweet Night

We had a sweet Valentine's Day with our boys and then Mommy and Daddy got to sneak out to a movie at bed time. Daddy worked hard and made us all sushi and we loved it, it was delicious! Thanks Daddy!

I love these chopsticks that our friend Emily gave us when Carter was just a toddler...he loves his sushi
I had to capture this...Logan praying at dinner. He has been watching us pray each night at dinner and Carter always rests his head on his hands so this is Logan's version...I love it!

Each boy got a little kids box of chocolate on their present and so we let Logan eat one and he was in heaven (above). We didn't give him anymore though until he found Carter's box on top of the table several weeks later and I came in and found him on the table shoving one in as fast as he could (below).

Blanket baby

Logan loves blankets and especially his little snugglies. He has loved to have a blanket close to his face since he was a baby. Now that he is bigger he loves to grab up as many blankets as he can when we come to get him from his crib and bring them along to snuggle. He has little blankets and snugglies all over the house and every time he finds one he has to grab it up and snuggle it. I wanted to capture a few pictures of his love for blankies.

These are all the blankets that Logan brought out of his crib.
