Here are two pictures of the nursery. Ready and waiting for Carter to arrive. Brady's Dad made the changing table in his woodworking shop. Thank you to our freinds and family that have given us so many wonderful gifts to fill the nursery. Posted by Picasa

This weekend we celebrated Shannon's Grandpa Bill's 80th birthday at a Dust Devil's baseball game. This is Shannon and her sister Carly with their matching shirts - but there is a big difference in their belly size. This is the start of the 37th week, Carter is officially full term and is ready to be born any day.  Posted by Picasa

We went to Cannon Beach over the 4th of July. Cannon Beach is on the Oregon Coast. This was the last trip we will be able to take until Carter is here. Shannon can't travel now as it is 4 weeks until he is here. This is a waterfall on Hug Point. The tide is out and this is the only way we were able to get to this waterfall. Posted by Picasa

At the baby shower I had no idea that I would be geting a present. This is the Daddy's Diaper Duty Device. It is complete with goggles, face mask, tongs, latex gloves, and everything I will need to take on the diaper challenge. Posted by Picasa

Here is the awsome quilt that Andy made for Carter. Posted by Picasa

Here are a few pictures from Shannon's baby shower. There was a great carrot cake with a special alphabet block with Carters initials and due date on it. A family friend, Andy H., made this quilt especially for Carter. She used his bumper pad as a guide. She did such a great job and it will be a special treasure.  Posted by Picasa

Here is Shannon after a scare that we had last Monday 3/28. The baby had laid on her blood supply and caused her to pass out. As she fell, she hit and broke her nose. After going to the hospital, the doctor said that Shannon and the baby are okay. Her blackeyes are almost gone and her nose is straight and healing :-)Posted by Hello

On Friday night (2/11/05) we went to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. Tammy, our friend, works as an ultasound tech at a local clinic. She graciously performed an ultrasound of the baby. If the color blue is any indication......It's a boy!!! She thouroughly checked him out and we got to see all four chambers of the heart, the spine, both arms, both legs, and everything looks healthy. We went to the first OB-GYN appointment on Friday 1/21. We got a chance to see an ultrasound of the baby. The picture didn't scan too good. What looks like a nose is actually the baby's right hand. When the ultrasound was being performed we could see the heart beating 160 beats per minute. The baby was excited to see us, and we were excited to see it too! Posted by Hello

The Big News

Dec 7th, 2004
Shannon took a home pregnancy test and found out the great news......we're expecting. No one else was home so she had to celebrate with the cats. What a night for Brady to work late and for friends to visit for dinner. It was two long hours before Shannon could share the news with Brady. Shannon had the pregnancy test in a box with a ribbon on it and gave it to Brady. It was a great surprise to find out the positive result!!

You dont' realize what a blessing from God pregnancy is until it actually happens to you.

Dec 9th, 2004
Shannon went to the doctor's office and they confirmed that she was indeed pregnant! Our due date was set for August 7th.

Dec 18th, 2004
We shared the good news with Carly over a burrito at Taco Bell. We know she is excited to have a niece or nephew on the way because she has been sharing the good news with her friends. It was harder to tell with the first response we got.....Whatever. We do know she isn't too anxious to be called aunt though, she thinks it makes her sound old.

Dec 19th, 2004
We spent an early Christmas with Dad and Dawna skiing in Whistler, BC. We surprised them with the news over dinner. We had a poem in a Christmas card to break the big news. Once they caught on to theme there were lots of tears and hugs to go around.

Dec 25th, 2004
This was the day we told everyone else in the family that they were going to be grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, etc..... We called my mom and told her over the phone. We told the Ross's after opening presents. We told the Richmond's after opening presents as well. Here is the poem we gave to all the Grandparents-to-be ~ I do not have a face to see, or put inside a frame. I do not have soft cheeks to kiss; I do not yet have a name. You can’t yet hold my tiny hands, nor whisper in my ear. It’s still too soon to sing a song, or cuddle me so near. But all will change come August, that’s when they say I’m due. I’m your new Grandchild; can’t wait to meet you. All I ask between now and then is your patience while I grow. I promise I’ll be worth the wait, because of the love we’ll know. So have a merry Christmas a wish to you from me. I cannot wait to be a part of this wonderful family.

Dec 27th, 2004
We met with a nurse at APW (Associated Physicians for Woman) and had a question and answer session on the do's and dont's during pregnancy. This made us really feel like real parent's to be.
