Hair goo

Now that Logan can get out of his bed he has more opportunity to get into trouble. One day when I thought he was napping he was quietly checking out everything in his room. He put a whole tube of diaper ointment in his hair (wrong end). So I gave him a bath and washed his hair and put him to bed.

When he woke up his hair was still all greasy and my first thought was gross your hair is still a mess. Carter saw his hair sticking up all over and said "I like your hair Logan it looks great". I thought that was hilarious because of course it looks cool to a 4 year old boy. You can see in the last picture how Carter spiked it into a Mohawk for him.

Yuck!

Big boy bed

It's official, our baby is now in a big boy bed! We converted Logan's crib to a toddler bed a few weeks ago. Carter was so excited for him that he wanted to celebrate by sleeping in Logan's room with him. We thought that was so special! Carter got his sleeping bag next to his brother and of course that is where Logan wanted to be.

Once Logan figured out getting out of your bed was not a game, things have gone pretty good. He has quietly dismantled his room during nap time, but all in all he has done well. The nice thing is he can get out of bed himself in the morning. Since no one in our house is a morning person we appreciate that we don't have to go get him anymore.

This video shows why we had to convert to a big boy bed. Logan figured out how to climb out of his crib in seconds and run out into the hall, which he thought was a pretty fun game. I wanted to catch him in action before we converted his bed, we were cracking up because each time he climbed out he had to bring something with him (stuffed animals, blankets). It made it much more difficult but he kept going back until he brought everything from his crib with him.

Busy boys

Here are just some funny moments of our busy boys around the house.

Carter showing off his karate moves
One afternoon Logan wanted to wear his frog raincoat, his backpack and his hat and then he ran off to play in the garage. I thought it was so cute.
Misty always sleeps in the hamper so the boys always go in to see her. Logan knows right where she is and runs in and climbs up to say hi. This time Carter decided to climb in and snuggle with her. She loved it.
Carter picked out these matching crab pajamas for them at Costco. They love to match and Mom loves it too.
Thank goodness for naps :) They look so innocent and sweet when they are sleeping.

Here is a little clip of Logan dancing. I love the ways kids just have to dance when they hear music. Logan has figured out how to push a button on his Dad's alarm clock to turn the music on so that he can dance. It's pretty adorable.
Here is Logan's new favorite game: He throws all my pillows and blankets off the couch and then jumps on them. He thinks it is hilarious. I wonder why a 1 1/2 year old has to climb up and throw himself off of things....and then I remember, oh yah he is a BOY! I live with three of them so you wouldn't think much would surprise me anymore, but I have a feeling this is just the beginning.

Easter eggcitement

We had a wonderful Easter, we enjoyed the weather, the company and just being together as a family. Carter really wanted to see the Easter Bunny at the mall so on Saturday we did that (against Logan's better judgement) and we colored eggs. On Easter the kids woke up to their Easter baskets then we hunted our resurrection eggs When they gathered them from all around the house we read the real story of Easter, Jesus dying on the cross and rising again for us. It just reminds us how AWESOME it is to serve a living God!

After church our family and friends came over and we had a delicious brunch and our Easter Egg hunts. We hunted our real eggs and then we got our tennis shoes on for the highly competitive plastic egg hunt. I tried my best but fell short with 29. We had an upset this year, Carly who has been the reigning champ for many years came in second, beaten by Danelle.

Logan was really into dyeing eggs.
He clapped for himself every time he dropped an egg in.
Carter checking out his goodies.
Logan diving right into his goodies.
Going through the resurrection eggs.
Dad and Logan scouting out the egg hunt.
Logan slightly distracted during the egg hunt...don't worry he got back on track. :)
One of the many eggs Logan found that wasn't his and Mom had to re-hide. Turns out when you are low to the ground you spot eggs a lot easier than the old people.
Sweet...finally found an egg he got to keep - his own.
Once he found his egg he had to go around and tell everyone about it, he was so proud of himself.
Ah ha...found my egg
Jake sleeping through his first egg hunt.
In our family its not enough just to hunt and eat your eggs. What better to toss than a boiled egg. Check out Brady's juggling. You have to love his playfullness....what more could two boys ask for.
Carly and Carter followed suit with a good game of egg toss.
The line up for the big plastic egg hunt.
And they're off...
Brady thinks this picture captures their personalities.
The celebration is over, its time to kick your pants off and relax.
Ron tickling Logan to hysterics.
Great Grandma Lorraine sent the boys some Easter goodies so they got to practice hunting eggs early.
I thought this was sweet because Carter was helping Logan find his egg, what a good big brother.Align Center

Sunday at the zoo

The day after the concert we had breakfast at my Godparents house and they surprised the boys with early Easter baskets. So they had fun playing with all their goodies and hanging out at their house. Then we all headed over to Point Defiance Zoo, our favorite place. There was hardly anyone there so we were able to easily see everything and just about finish before the pouring rain started. Carter has always loved animals and now Logan does too so this was the perfect spot to take them. We took them to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch on Saturday and when Logan saw the elephants he was saying "moo" and then when we saw the live elephants at the zoo he was yelling out "moo"...what a crack up that kid is.
Bubbles

We were lucky enough to see this polar bear feeding on fish.

One of Logan's first words was fish. He has always liked fish so he was really excited about the aquarium. If you can't tell he is saying fish over and over. :)

Night out with my little boy

Last Saturday we went to the George Strait - Reba McEntire concert with Le Ann Womack. I am a big fan of all of these artists but I really went to see George Strait, I have been wanting to see him since I was a teenager and it was worth the wait. This is definitely the best concert I have ever been too and I had great company too. Since Brady was sleeping off his jet lag from China and could not be woken for anything Carter and I headed off to the concert.

It was a great time all the performers were great and George is just so cool! Carter and I shared nachos for dinner which he thought was a great treat and he got lots of attention dressed up in his little boots and hat. He couldn't quite understand why everybody was looking at him, talking to him and touching him but he took it in stride. He liked he whole concert but he did keep asking me when George Strait was going to be on, because he is all about George Strait. When he sang "Troubadour" he played old pictures of him and him on his horse from the music video and Carter loved that. Although he has recently gotten into "McEntire" as he calls her and he loved it when she came out in a taxi for her encore to sing "Fancy".

If you are a fan I posted a few short videos even though they look blank they are there Blogger is having a problem getting the thumbnail pictures to show when you post a video and it hasn't been solved yet.

A little clip of "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls"
This was an awesome surprise - Reba started singing "Does He Love you" which is a duet she did with Linda Davis and out came Le Ann Womack to sing with her. These two have amazing voices and it was so cool to see them singing together.
We are big fans of the Reba show so it was a fun surprise when Melissa Peterman who plays Barbara Jean on the show came on stage. She had a George Strait shirt on that said "I love George Strait" on the back and she had the whole audience sing happy birthday to Reba. They did a funny dialogue similar to how their characters are on the show, it was great.
Here they are singing the theme song to the show together and she is crazy as usual.
This is what a 4 year old George Strait fan looks like at 11:30 p.m. I thought he'd fall asleep on the ride back to the motel. He perked up when he got back and Dad was finally awake and he could tell him all about the concert and show him pictures.
