For Mother's Day we went to church and then traveled to Walla Walla for brunch at Marcus Whitman. It was a special day with Shannon's mom, sisters, grandma, and the boys.

The French drain project
We installed a French drain on the side of our house in April. It took three days to complete and the boys had a great time. We had a tractor, excavator, backhoe, a pile of sand, gravel, and a 6' deep hole at our house...the boys were in heaven. They got to play in the dirt and ride all the equipment.

Bike safety day
Carter's school had a bike safety day in April. They had to ride their bike, scooter, or both around a course that had stop signs, RR crossings, and cross walks. The dad's got to be police and hand out tickets if they ran any stop signs. Afterwards, they sang a few songs and we had a picnic lunch on the lawn.
Easter
We had a good Easter starting at our house in the morning. Then to church and then to Shannon's grandma's house for easter eggs and lunch.
WSU 5k
WSU had a 5k run before Easter with a 50 yard dash for kids. Brady and the boys ran and although there were no records broken, it was a fun time.

Seaside, OR
Going to the beach in the Pacific NW is usually met with fog, rain, and wind (especially in the spring). You look for the break in the clouds and run to the beach for fun. In between you swim in the heated pool, ride bumper cars, go to the aquarium, and just enjoy the scenery of the coast. Seaside has become our annual spring break get-way with Shannon's parents and we have come to enjoy it regardless of the weather.

Astoria, Oregon
We took an afternoon trip to the maritime museum in Astoria, OR. Astoria is about as far Northwest Oregon as you can go and it's where the Columbia River dumps into the Pacific Ocean. Astoria is a great spot where you can learn history of Lewis & Clark and meet modern day Ocean container vessels navigating to Portland.
Sushi Ichibon in Portland
Its been a while since we last updated our blog so get ready....we have some catching up to do. For spring break we went to the beach. The first night, we spend in Portland and for dinner went to Sushi Ichibon. The kids loved it because there was a train that circled the eating area and you got to pick your selection off of the train. At the end, you paid based on the number of plates and the color of the plates (brown: $2.00, white $3.00, etc). If your in Portland, we recommend Sushi Ichibon!
