Easter 2012

It was a special Easter this year because Natalie is here to celebrate it with us and big enough to enjoy rummaging around her Easter basket.  Although we dearly missed Gee Gee and Grandpa (the ultimate egg hider) we enjoyed one last year of egg hunts at their house.  We have been hunting eggs there as long as I can remember and it was sad to think this will be the last time, but special to have all three of our kids get to hunt their eggs there one more time.

Logan showing off his eggs.  He did better than me, I never did find my egg. :)

Plastic egg hunt all set up.
We used to do this every year at Gee Gee and Grandpa's country club and now it has been a tradition for us to race in the back yard.
 Nice haul boys

Weekend in Portland

We had a short get away to Portland over Spring Break.  We spent some time at OMSI which is always fun, our big highlight was going to the OVO show and riding the train home.  Everyone enjoyed the show and Logan watches youtube videos of OVO and asks if he can go to the "bug show" (as he calls it) almost every week.

There was a LEGOs display at OMSI....couldn't have been better timing for these LEGO loving boys.

Everyone outside the tent at OVO

Loving swimming at the hotel.  Natalie loves doing motorboat with Dad.
Saturday market entertainment

Carter got this knife that you wear on your head at the market...boys are so entertaining. :)
Logan copying his brother

Love the spring blooms

The train ride was beautiful right along the river down the gorge.  We also saw a bald eagle flying right next to our window, but I didn't get a picture of that.

Fun on the train

Our new babies

We have a sweet little Dove nesting in our hanging basket on the front porch.  She is used to us so we get to peek at her everyday and she is always there on her nest.  We all have loved watching her incubate her eggs.  And yesterday we were so excited because the first baby hatched and today the second baby hatched.  Now we get to watch them grow and learn to fly.  Carter's class hatched baby chicks and ducks so he is really interested in these baby birds and has had fun watching the process.

A little green

I had fun dressing the kids up in their green for St. Patrick's Day.  We all enjoyed Papa's delicious corned beef and cabbage...best part of the holiday.

Logan's nickel

A few weeks ago Logan was playing around with a Nickel and put it in his mouth and accidentally swallowed it.  It shocked us all and as he tells the story Mom said "Uh...oh my gosh" then tried to unsuccessfully give him the heimlich maneuver.  You can see in the x-ray his "special" nickel that he carried around in his tummy for a few days and on the video you can hear his favorite joke: "If you swallow a nickel you get out five pennies".  He loved to tell this to anyone who would listen, even strangers.

Silver Mountain

We took a family trip to Silver Mountain for some fun in the snow and water.  From the village you take a gondola to the ski hill where there is skiing, tubing, and snow shoeing.
